How does it work?
Block Paving Groundworks Preparation

Correct groundworks and preparation are vital when installing a new block paving driveway as this will ensure no movement or sinking of the paviours over time. At Drive Time Paving we take great care to make sure:
• The correct depth of soil is removed and a solid stone foundation is compacted down. this is known as MOT hard base stone. With any base, this has to be a minimum of 10 inches deep and wackered in layers to form a solid base.
• Any drainage is added if necessary and we always work in compliance with SUDS (Government Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems)
• Edgings are all concreted in with substantial 'haunches' to ensure no movement. This is the most important part of any driveway as the edge stops any movement so if the edges are 100% secure the driveway also cannot move. therefore in time this will prevent any movement in your driveway.

Correctly Laying Block Paving
This is where attention to detail is very important to create a beautiful flat or contoured driveway to suit the property.
At Drive Time Paving we are passionate about our quality of
work and high attention to detail.
Screening the area is a very technical  but vital element to create the correct levels and falls.
screening is done by wackering sand in layers for maximum compactness. sand need to be as thin as possible max 5cm thick . This will eliminate any sinking when preparation is done correctly.

The Finished Driveway
This is a completed driveway with the standard herringbone pattern. All the cut blocks required are meticulously marked and then cut with a Stihl Saw to give the best possible finish, and then a fine kiln dried sand is brushed into all of the joints in order to lock the whole thing together.
