Why Now Is The Time To Lay Your Block Paving Driveway

The sunny spring weather has been very enjoyable and will hopefully not be followed by a soggy summer. If so, this could be a perfect time for laying block paving driveways.

Most kinds of driveways are easier to lay in the warmer months of the year, as the weather conditions do not interfere with the process either because it is very cold (you can’t lay a driveway when it’s frozen), because it’s difficult when autumn leaves are continually falling on it, or because it is raining, leaving the surface sodden.

Dry, warm weather, by contrast, is ideal for laying all sorts of driveway surfaces, including block paving.

In some respects, spring is the best time for block paving to be laid, as the ground is no longer liable to be frozen or frosty. The only downside is that spring is often rainy, with this season being a glorious exception.

Hot, dry summer weather is particularly ideal for asphalt and concrete, as these can set more easily in such conditions. But it is also a good time to lay block paving too, as dry weather still makes the whole task a lot easier.

Another benefit is that the summer has long daylight hours, which means there are longer working days in which to fit the work in. This means workers who lay driveways can get more jobs completed, so while there is lots of demand, there is also more time in which to fulfil it.

Of course, the fact that now is a good time to fit a block paving driveway shouldn’t detract from one of its key attributes: its capacity to handle all kinds of weather. It won’t always be warm and sunny, but when there is pouring rain, snow, or sub-zero temperatures, robust block paved driveways will handle any kind of weather conditions.
